EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive Committee has four elected officers; Co-Chair Labor, Co-Chair Management, Vice Co-Chair Labor, and Vice Co-Chair Management.  There are also two Labor representatives, two Management representatives, and a neutral.  The Committee meets monthly on the first Wednesday of each month from 7:30 - 8:45 a.m. at Michigan Works/Upjohn Institute located at 222 S. Westnedge Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan.  The Executive Committee always welcomes interested members to join their meetings.  For further information please contact kalm@upjohn.org.  Below is a 2010 meeting schedule.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

KALM has formed an Education Committee to discuss ways to educate youth on the collective bargaining process.  The Committee meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at Michigan Works/Upjohn Institute located at 222 S. Westnedge Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan.  Members who have an interest in this topic are welcome to attend any meeting.  For further information contact kalm@upjohn.org. NOMINATING COMMITTEE

After reviewing the membership for commitment, interest (including meeting attendance and committee participation), and leadership skills; the Nominating Committee annually nominates the candidates for KALM offices. According to the By-Laws, the four elected officers are: Co-Chair Labor, Co-Chair Management, Vice Co-Chair Labor, and Vice Co-Chair Management. As part of the nominating process, the Committee obtains the agreement from each candidate that they will serve if elected. To assure a balanced approach, the Nominating Committee is composed of one labor, one management, and one neutral member. It is important that they have a good understanding of the KALM's goals as well as knowledge of individual member's abilities.
